Don't know what you've got 'til it's gone
Long time, no blog! Here's what has been going on.
Some not so good news, my hard drive crashed at home on 4/24. I've been spending evenings (into the wee hours of the morning) rebuilding accounting data and such. No fun!!
On March 2nd, I had a casual conversation with a friend at church about a job opportunity with his father's company. On March 3rd, I interviewed with them, just to see what the job was all about. On March 4th, I took the job. I started back to work full time on March 10th!
This job is my dream job. Of course, as with all jobs, it has moments of stress and frustration. The first few weeks were hard because I had to learn a ton of stuff in just a few days. The lady I replaced was here for 15 years! Anyway, I am now the Controller for Heartland Homes. I negotiated a 4 day work week, which I love. I am a very lucky woman to have this job!
In the meantime, the kids started full-time at a new school, which I won't name for security reasons. They love their new school, and both of them are really doing well with the change. Even the first week went smoothly for them. Lindsay has already learned how to count to ten in Spanish at school. Joel has about 3 girlfriends and can now write his entire name (legibly).
Joel is almost done with his first year of Pre-K. He'll do another year of Pre-K next year.
Now that I'm working full-time, I am really enjoying my evenings with the kids. Our current family thing is getting in the hot tub at sunset. The kids think it their own personal swimming pool.
I really will try to get on here more often. My kids say things everyday that are "blog-worthy", but I've just not had the time (or desire) to work on the computer at home much lately.

I'm glad you love your job. It's funny how God works in "casual" conversations, isn't it?!
